Scent Descriptions

The descriptions below have been created to give you a basic understanding of how an
aroma may be interpreted. However, this is by no means a definitive description as each
nose tends to interpret aroma quite differently. As such we make no warranty or
guarantee that you or your customers will concur with these scent descriptions.

African Rain	The powerful aroma of a tropical rainforest – lush florals drenched in warm rain.
All Spice	A spicy, aromatic blend of clove, cinnamon, and ginger. Warm and rich.
Almond	The sweet, scent that offers a "cherry" like top note with a smooth finish.
Aloe Vera	This soothing scent is clean and green with a hint of chill.
Amaretto	Almond with a kick. Amaretto has the added richness of the famous liquor
Amber	Woodsy, warm and mysterious, with a hint of the orient.
Amber Rose	The warmth of amber with delicate overlay of tea rose. A beautiful blend of mystery and romance.
Ambrosia	The name says it all! A heavenly mix of all your favorite berries and fruits.
Angel Cake	All of the scents that soft beauty – vanilla, hazelnut, and hint of coconut
Angel's Trumpet	This clean, mild, sweet floral tends to be popular year round.
Anise	There’s a sharp bite to this one, with a sweet finish. Think of holiday pizzelles and black licorice
Apple	One of our many Apple fragrances. This one is a rendition of the delicious Red Apple. Juicy, sweet and picked right from the tree.
Apple Barrel Cider	The spicy scent of apple cider will take you back to the crisp days of autumn every time, a great scent for soap and candles.
Apple Cider	Crisp, juicy apples with just a hint of spice. Think of a fall hayride through the orchard
Apple Pie	Mmm! This is juicy apples, sugar-cinnamon and a touch of that warm, buttery crust. You’ll want to take a bite out of this one
Apples & Oranges	The classic blend of two perennial favorites – crisp apple with an overlay of juicy, sweet orange.
Apricot	Sun-kissed, juicy fragrance of the summer fruit. Not too sweet, this is a nice, summery scent.
Arabian Sandalwood	This moderate, woodsy sandalwood is softened with delicate florals.
Autumn Harvest	Hints of cranberry, spices and autumn citrus. It’s the scent of fall on a cool evening and the crunch of fallen leaves.
Avocado	Creamy, green and smooth – guacamole!
Azalea	The light, crisp bloom that signals spring. This is a bright floral.
Baby’s Breath	The most delicate of florals, this is an airy, romantic scent with a powdery finish.
Baby Powder	A powdery, soothing scent that brings to mind warm skin and hugs.
Baked Bread	This scent will wrap you in comfort with the memory of fresh bread right out of the oven; you’ll recognize the yeasty, slightly nutty fragrance right away.
Balsam Fir	The full scent of pine needles and cold mountain air.
Bamboo	A clean and wonderful scent, soft, green, and fresh. Excellent for candles or bath products. Also very useful in blends with your favorite fruit or floral fragrance.
BAMBOO & GREEN TEA	A soothing citrus fragrance with pungent and dry tones that brings green tea leaves together with bergamot, mandarin and jasmine followed by the enveloping aromas of black currant and pomegranate
Banana	The creamy, smooth scent of this sweet tropical fruit
Banana Nut Bread	Creamy banana mixed with warm spice notes with a touch of sugar and walnuts.
Basil	Fresh-picked scent of this well-known spice, bright and sharp.
Bayberry	A holiday favorite, bayberry is pure Christmas – Deep green notes blended with clean top notes.
Bayberry Spice	A play on the ever popular Bayberry aroma. This unique blend offers a deeper more earthy base notes with a mild spicy top note.
Bay Rum	The traditional man’s fragrance, similar to Old Spice. Invigorating and masculine, with spice notes.
Benzoin	Creamy vanilla notes from the luxurious essential oil
Bergamot	A fresh herbal that’s not too heavy, this is terrific with citrus scents
Birds of Paradise	A lush floral similar to gardenia, but with a lighter, smoother top note
Blackberry	Plump, juicy berries fresh off the berry bush – like the powerful blackberry jam grandma makes.
Blackberry Sage Tea	Those juicy blackberries again, blended with aromatic sage tea for a soothing aroma with a touch of fruitiness.
Black Cherry	The dark, rich aroma of juicy Bing Cherries.

Black Tea	Black Tea is a spicy, sweet, slightly lemony aroma.
Blueberry	True blueberry fragrance – sweet, with a just a touch of tartness.
Blue Bonnet	A vibrant floral bouquet from sunny Texas, this is a true wildflower scent.
Brown Sugar	The rich, maple sugar that is used in cookies. Heavier and spicier than white sugar.
Boysenberry	A grapey, sweeter berry fragrance.
Bubble Gum	Just like the big, chewy kids’ gum – sweet and sugary. You’ll want to blow bubbles!
Butt Naked	Sweet fruity delight notes of watermelon and cherry lead the way, let your mind do the rest.
Buttercream Type	Like those wonderful buttercream candies – smooth, creamy, and luscious.
Buttered Popcorn	Sweet and salty, this will put you in mind of kettle corn from the county fair.
Butterscotch	Smooth, buttery and rich…smells just like a toffee candy.
Butterscotch Vanilla	Take the toffee candy and add some rich cream, something like a butterscotch sundae.
Cactus Flower	Desert-blooming wildflower with a heady, floral note. Light and natural.
Campfire	This smoky wood scent will send you back to summer nights around the bonfire, warm and inviting with a hint of the outdoors.
Candy Corn	A great Halloween scent! Just like the chewy sweets.
Cantaloupe	This is a wonderful, fresh melon scent – like you just sliced into a melon from the farmer’s market.
Caramel	The aroma of your favorite candy filling, creamy and decadent!
Caramel Apple	The tart crispness of apple layered with the rich, creaminess of caramel.
Caribbean Fruit	A delightful scent of island fun, a blend of sweetfruit nectars will excite your senses.
Carnation	Slightly spicy, light floral. A perennial favorite, especially in the summer months when a heavier fragrance can be overpowering.
Carrot	An unusual blend of earthiness and crisp, leafy greens. Will remind you of a basket of freshly picked vegetables.
Carrot Cake	A buttery spicy blend with hints of carrot, cinnamon, nutmeg, coconut and vanilla. This aroma is delicious with a buttercream top note.
Cedar	The age-old favorite – sharp, sweet wood and a touch of spice, with the reassuring scent of that antique cedar chest.
Chamomile	The ultimate fragrance for relaxation! The calming, hypnotic scent of the chamomile flower will instantly melt your tensions away.
CHAMOMILE & MUSK MELON	Beautiful floral notes and light, sweet melon notes. Again a nice addition to the aromachology assortment.
Champagne	This scent smells so much like the real thing that you could swear the bubbles are tickling your nose! The is a slightly sweet, effervescent fragrance
Chardonnay	Ripe fruits, a touch of oak and sparkling, crisp grape, just like the fine white wine.
Cherry	A sweeter, lighter version of our black cherry, more reminiscent of candy.
Cherry Almond	Cherries blended with sweet almond oil. A terrific blend of fruit and nut!
Cherry Spice	Like cherries jubilee? Then you’ll love this rich dessert candle.
China Musk Type	A soft musk base with top notes of heady oriental flowers. A mysterious, alluring scent.
China Rain Type	A refreshing rain blended with rich oriental florals.
Chocolate	The ultimate indulgence, without the calories. Rich, creamy and sweet with plenty of cocoa.
Chocolate-Cherry	Chocolate-covered cherries. Yum!
Chocolate Mint	Rich cocoa offset with a sprig of mint to add cool, crisp edge to it.
Chocolate Raspberry	The best of both worlds – sinful, milk chocolate and the tart, juicy scent of raspberries.
Christmas Cookie	Mom just pulled another baking sheet out of the oven – can you smell those sugary cookies and the creamy vanilla frosting?
Christmas Garland	Pleasant, fresh, woody evergreen aroma will have you remembering the holidays at Grandma's house all year long.
Christmas Morning	All the joys of Christmas morning – the pine, the candy canes warmed by the lights, and the bracing hint of snow in the air.
Christmas Wreath	No holiday home would be complete without the scent of Christmas Wreath, a vibrant, green, herbal based aroma with crisp pine and spruce top notes.
Cinnamon	Your favorite spice done right. True cinnamon spice like in grandma’s kitchen.

Coco-Mango	The sweet coconut with the freshness of mango – a tropical delight. A B&B type duplication.
Cola	Just like your favorite drink (well, okay, your favorite non-alcoholic drink). A hit with the younger set.
Colombian Coffee	Wake up to this dark, roasted coffee-bean fragrance. Like the finest gourmet coffee, without stopping at Starbuck’s.
Cotton Candy	Light, sugar-syrup scent that will take you back to those child-hood carnivals.

Country Garden	The ultimate garden experience – lush florals like Jasmine and Freesia, green herbals, country spices and a touch of soothing lilac.
Country Spice	Fresh spices, from the tang of clove to the warmth of cinnamon – a baker’s dream.
Cranapple	It’s like the drink – sweet and tart. The sweet apple scent has a top note of those wonderfully tart cranberries.
Cranberry	The tart spiciness of cranberries, just like in Grandma’s kitchen at the holidays.
Cranberry w/Citrus	Tart cranberry base with a fresh citrus note – a sparkling summer scent that hints of fall.
Cranberry Spice	A cranberry-lovers’ fantasy – imagine fresh-baked cranberry tarts – a bit of sugar and cinnamon tames the sharp cranberry.
Crème Brulee	Rich, decadent caramel, vanilla cream and burnt sugar.
Cucumber	The cleanest, crispest green scent we have. Slightly sweet with a zingy touch of cool top notes. This is a wonderful, clean scent for summer.
Cucumber Melon	The invigorating scent of cucumber mixed with sweet, juicy melon. A B&B type duplication

Daffodil	Like a breath of spring – a soft, leafy scent with a delicate floral. A B&B type duplication.
Daisy	Light wildflower; a sharper floral with a breezy freshness
Dandelion	The pungent aroma of that childhood favorite – pick some of these for Mom to bring back hot summer days lying in the field, surrounded by these beauties!
Dewberry	Sweet honeydew melon with touches of berry to liven things up.
Dirt	Remember the satisfying richness of freshly turned earth in the garden? The slightly damp, clean smell that meant spring? This is it!
Dogwood	A soft, white floral with a hint of woodsiness

Exotica	A dark, musky blend with spicy florals. An exotic embrace of warmth and sensuality.
Fern	A fresh green scent with mossy overtones and a touch of wood. Think of the cool lushness of the forest floor, with dew on the ferns.
Fig	The spicy-sweet desert fruit – refreshing with just the right balance.
FIG & MELON	Rich, ripe late season fig with warm autumn melon notes. Excellent for soap and candles.
Fireside Type	A warm, spicy scent with a touch of herbals over woodsy notes.
Forest Pine	The pure pine scent you love for the holidays – Christmas trees in the snow. This is clean and energizing; breathe deep, and imagine you’re in the woods on a snowy evening.
Forget Me Not	Unforgettable, lady-like fragrance of the dainty blue flower.
Frankincense	A true, musky incense, invoking ancient cities and shadowed streets of the bazaar.
Frankincense-Myrrh	Deep, musky scent with warm overtones of Amber resin and Myrrh beauty.
Frangipani	The Hawaiian floral – a lush sweet tropical flower. This is a strong clean floral that is unique and loved by many.
Freesia	This is a clean, fresh floral. Not too "flowery," with a delicate crispness to it.
French Vanilla	Mmm…Vanilla, only richer! This is vanilla with a hint of egg custard.
Fresh Cotton	The clean, sunny smell of sheets fresh off the clothesline.
Fresh Cut Grass	Slightly sweet; a fresh clean hint of the great outdoors. Imagine rocking in a hammock while a cool breeze carries the scent of freshly mowed grass on the air.
Fried Ice Cream	Vanilla with a nutty touch, along with cinnamon and caramel, like the Mexican dessert treat…I’m hungry!
Fruit Cake	A fruity, sweet aroma that reminds you of the holidays. A warm, mild cake is the base notes which are then layered with wonderful fruity top notes.
Fruit Punch	A mix of the freshest fruit juices with sugar. Smells just like the real thing.
Fruit Salad	More fruit, less sugar. This is a nice blend of citrus and melons with a touch of pineapple.
Fudge Brownie	They’ll think you’ve been baking. A dark, fudgey chocolate scent. Very rich.
Garden Mint	A soft mint, not at all medicinal – like the sprigs you’ll find on a Mint Julep with a soft fruity top note.
Gardenia	Very strong white floral – so distinctive and lush!
Geranium	The homey scent from mother’s garden. Pure country charm.
German Chocolate Cake	Rich cocoa scent, not as sweet as the traditional candy chocolate. You may notice a hint of coconut.
Ginger	The strong spice from the kitchen. This is invigorating and strong.
Ginger Lime	Ginger blended with the tartness of lime. The lime cuts the heavy spice of Ginger – a nice blend. A B&B type duplication.
Gingerbead	Warm gingerbread right from the oven. Ginger blended with sugar and cinnamon, this captures that "just baked" aroma.
Gingersnap	Cookies! Like the gingerbread, but with a bit more (pardon the pun) snap to them – spicier, crisper.
Ginseng	An aromatic, subtle spice from the orient that is green and herbal. Similar to sweet tea leaves.
Green Apple	Juicy apples fresh from the orchard – the tart kind with some bite to them!
Green Tea	The oriental tea, with more depth and an herbal scent with a bit of zest to it.
Guava	A sweet, musky fruit with creamy overtones. This is a creamy tropical delight, very smooth.
Hawaiian Lei	This is a complex blend of the headiest of Hawaiian flowers, including Frangipani, White Ginger, and Plumeria.
Hawaiian Rain	You left your Lei out in the rain! A wonderful blend of Frangipani, White Ginger and Plumeria softened by a kiss of fresh water.
Hazelnut	A sweet, nutty aroma, milder than almond.
Heather	A delicate floral that will send you back to the Scottish moors. Imagine standing in a field of this delicate flower as the mist rises – relaxing and fragrant.
Heaven Scent	This a favorite with both men and women – the best of both worlds! An unusual blend of soft florals with the more masculine musk notes.
Heavenly Musk	A strong, masculine musk with just a hint of his softer side
Heliotrope	This is an unusual floral – vanilla with a powdery finish, but with just the barest trace of licorice.
Hibiscus	Hothouse floral that’s surprisingly light and less cloying than some.
Hollyberry	Think clean greens with a touch of spice.
Honey	Fresh from the honeycomb – smells just like the golden syrup. Very sweet with a hint of orange blossoms.

Honey Almond	Honey drizzled over sweet almonds.
Honeydew	This pale green melon has a fresh, breezy sweetness.
Hyacinth	The traditional Easter flower, with a distinct sweetness.
Hydrangea	A robust floral, with a touch of green notes. You’ll think the window’s open over a hydrangea bush.
Iris	A lighter, greener scent with a hint of floral and stem.
Indian Summer	Fall spice – a well rounded spicy, rich scent.
Irish Cream	Like the liquor – creamy, dreamy and rich, with a slight nuttiness and definite hints of vanilla.
Jasmine	A heavy white floral that’s not overpowering. A bright oriental feel to it, rather mysterious. This is very popular in many perfume blends.
Jasmine Powder	Bright oriental floral softened with a touch of powder.
Juniper Berry	Dark green floral, bracing and touched with a light spice and just a pinch of woodsiness.
Juniper Breeze	Clean, invigorating, fresh with a slight top note of berry. A B&B type duplication.
Kiwi	The green, fresh fruit – mild and smooth.
Lavender	Refined yet simple, with an unmistakable, powerful fragrance all its own.
Lavender Rose	The refined fragrance of lavender rounded out with rose.
Lavender Vanilla	Lavender fans will enjoy this relaxing blend of floral scents highlighted by the rich buttery aroma of vanilla.
Leather	This warm, musky fragrance evokes the luxury of fine leather – a subtle blend of earthiness and elegance.
Lemon	Fresh lemons – sunny and tart, bursting with citrusy zing!
Lemonade	Tart lemons with sugar – this refreshing scent will quench your thirst just inhaling it!
Lemon Grass	A combination of grass notes and a touch of lemony zip. A nice balance of sharp and soothing.
Lemon Verbena	A lovely blend of lemon and grassy herbals, kissed with a bright floral note.
Lettuce	Crisp, watery, green with earthy, leafy notes.
Lick Me All Over	This one is too hot to describe.
Lilac	The intense spring scent in a bottle – as though a soft breeze stirred the entire lilac bush.
Lily of the Valley	The delicate, white-green floral of spring. Soft and sheer as fine linen.
Lime	Sharp, citrusy green. The perfect skin cooler on a hot summer’s day!
Lotus	A white floral with musky overtones – think water lilies, but more potent.
Magnolia	The heady, sweet perfume of southern magnolias. Pull up a seat on the plantation’s porch and inhale the romance.
Mandarin	Orange, but less sweet. This is a stronger orange citrus, with an oriental touch.
Mango	The smooth tropical fruit – peachy, sweet with a hint of citrus.
Mango Mandarin Type	This popular BBW type fragrance is absolutely irresistible. A unique blend of freshly sliced mandarin oranges and tangerines with clean base notes of ripe mangos. Fresh, clean and tangy!
Maple Syrup	Vermont’s specialty. Just like fresh-tapped maple syrup, with the nutty, rich sweetness and a touch of brown sugar. NOT pancake syrup, but true maple syrup.
Melissa	A subtle floral with green notes, this is a fresh, feminine fragrance with a hint of lemon to keep it lively.
Melon	What says summer better than melons? A nice blend of sweet, juicy melons that will remind you of the freshest fruit salad.
Merlot	A robust cherry/berry blend with oak overtones. Will remind you of the dark wine.
Midnight Rain	Fresh air on a rainy evening and water with a touch of night musk
Midnight Rose	A more mysterious rose, wrapped in incense. Roses on an oriental night!
Milk & Honey	Creamy, fresh white scent (mmm…milk!) and sweet honey straight from the comb. A perfect, farm-fresh mix.
Mimosa	Legendary for its soothing effect, mimosa is a floral as delicate as the appearance of the pink flower itself.
Moonflower	Moonflower’s uniquely subtle, yet fragrant, floral scent smells just like the enormous white flower renowned for only opening its petals at night.
Moonlight Path Type (BBW)	Lavender. Roses. Violets and Musk. The heady scents of a garden at midnight are blended into a soft and sensual fragrance. LOVE THIS!!
Mother Earth	All of her earthiest offerings – musk, sandalwood, sharp resins with refreshing herbals, finished with a bit of earth.
Mountain Meadow	Plenty of green notes with some light florals and fresh country breezes.
Mulberry	A mild, earthy berry fragrance. Not as strong as other berries, this one is mellow.
Muscadine (Grape)	Grapey and sweet, very strong and fragrant.
Musk	The age-old masculine scent with a powdery top note. One of the earliest perfume scents.
Myrrh	A resinous, amber fragrance with an earthy base.

Nag Champa	Patchouli and earth with a touch of forest. The lush incense of India, and loved around the world.
Nature’s Garden	Crisp vegetables and a subtle floral blend with a soft, earthy base. Think Eden!
Nectarine	Juicy and sweet like peaches, but a touch more tartness.
Neroli	Orange blossoms – delicate and slightly citrusy.
New Car Smell	Remove the musty, smokey or stale smell from any vehicle with our popular new car smell! This scent is a great way to turn back the clock and bring back that just bought car aroma.
New Mown Hay	Sweeter than grass, with a just hint of wood. Like a meadow at the farm when warmed by the sun.
Nutmeg	The traditional baking favorite, spicy and warm.
Oak Moss	Musky, but softer than Patchouli, with more green notes and a touch of woodiness.
Oatmeal	Comfort and warmth. A nutty, wheaty scent.
Oatmeal, Milk & Honey	The wheaty oatmeal scent with warm cream and soothing honey.
Oatmeal Raisin	Your favorite comfort breakfast with dark, fruity raisins.
Ocean Scent	The clean scent of rain on the seashore. A mild aroma that offers the introduction to the rain family.
Orange	Sweet juicy oranges – powerful and invigorating. This is a rejuvenating, uplifting scent.
Orange Blossom	A bit of orange (just a squeeze!) with a bold, clean white floral top note.
Orange Sherbert	A cool, crisp orange aroma with a subtle hint of cream and an icy top note!
Orange Spice	Juicy, sweet oranges with cinnamon and cloves. Like spices simmering on the stove, with fresh-squeeze oranges alongside.
Orchid	Delicate and sweet all at once! A heady, intoxicating fragrance like no other, and very exotic.
Oriental	A clean, refreshing scent with white florals that’s sometimes used in soaps and body washes.
Oriental Garden	Clean, oriental base with a bit more green floral to it and herbal notes to round it out. Picture yourself in a Japanese garden – restrained but lovely.
Palmarosa	A sweet, wild grass native to India that has a vibrant floral fragrance. Uplifting and pleasant.
Pansy	Delicate and light floral with a clean well rounded sweetness.
Papaya	Juicy and sweet, resembling ripe cantaloupe, but with a hint of musk.
Papaya Mango	Fresh from the tropics a mouthwatering fragrance of sweet mangoes and papaya, clean and enticing.
Passion Flower	Sweeter than the southern florals, with a lighter touch. Passion with delicacy.
Passion Fruit	Appealing, guava-like scent, but a bit more tart, with a light floral top note.
Patchouli	60’s flashback! The musky incense of choice for years in the counter-culture. You can almost hear the sitar music!
Peach	Juicy, warm ripe peaches. So realistic, you’ll be able to feel the peach fuzz.
Peach Blossom	Warm, sunny and light, a white flower with just a hint of fruit. Can you hear the bees buzzing in the orchard?
Peach Cobbler	Sweet peaches, spices, and a hint of spice and that wonderful, buttery crumble topping.
